ABOUT ABSTRACT PAINTINGS

Born in Belgium, CLAUDE ROEGIERS began painting in California in the late 80's while persuing a career in fashion, which had a strong influence in his work.

​

For 20 years, influenced at first by Americans abstract painters and then by tribal fabrics of South-East Asia , he produced a large number of large Abstract Paintings .  It's upon his return to Brussels that his first exhibit was organized in 1994.

​

A private solo exhibit was organized in Brussels every 2 years and his paintings became part of several private collections in Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and Sweden.  Many of his paintings hanging in outstanding apartments and houses have been photographed in magazines.

​

In 2010, after the opening of its Paris studio , he moved to his Image Paintings using images and a "warp and weft"effect (c-roegiers-images.com).  

 

In 2015, he opened a second studio in Miami.

​

While his main work is Image Paintings, CLAUDE ROEGIERS still paints from time to time some Abstract Paintings in the spirit of his previous series: Geometry and Textile.
